Georgian Antique Bacon Settle Seat in Original Finish.

This rare English country antique bacon settle is a lovely, more manageable size than normal. Slightly curving in shape, made in elm which has beautiful patination and wear. Dating from around 1790, this antique bacon settle has paneled doors to the back, where the bacon would have once hung, but now great for coats and boots. The front of this Georgian antique elm settle is panelled above the seat with two base drawers below. The sides are well shaped with well polished edges on the wings. A lovely English country antique piece of furniture, pre fridges. Made and used to hang sides of bacon to cure as well as being a functional piece of elm seating.
