19TH CENTURY QUALITY ANTIQUE OAK BOOKCASE BY GILLOWS
19th Century Quality Antique Oak Bookcase by Gillows.
A very well proportioned, solid oak glazed antique bookcase by Gillows of Lancaster around 1880. Stamped by the maker Gillows. This large, impressive oak bookcase splits into three sections, a lift off moulded cornice, the glazed two door top section, then the bookcase cupboard base which features two, fielded panel doors. In superb, clean and original condition, the bookcase stands on a square plinth. The glass in the glazed doors is orignal, inside the top section are three oak, adjustable shelves and in the lower section, there is one oak, fixed shelf. Very good quality throughout, a lovely example.
