ENGLISH 1940'S LARGE PAINTED PINE RAILWAY SIGN Ref:C37X
English 1940's Large Painted Pine Railway Sign
A very original, English hand painted railway sign by the British Transport Commision. The BTC was created by Clement Attlee's post-war Labour government as a part of its nationalisation programme, to oversee railways, canals and road freight transport in Great Britain. This vintage, forties railway sign is painted onto a pine board that has the period pine frame. In very good condition, all the original paint with no alterations. Very decorative and a good size.
