A wonderful hand made set of six 1930’s walnut dining chairs by one of England’s most important figures in the Arts & Crafts movement, Edward Barnsley, he was hugely influential in British furniture making and design. This set of six solid walnut dining chairs are beautifully made, all pegged construction and with upholstered drop in seats. Each chair has the Barnsley makers stamp. Barnsley made these chairs very much in the Cotswold style he was known for, the lattice back rest are slightly shaped for comfort and the chairs stand on square legs with connecting stretchers. All six are in superb, strong condition and all are a very good original colour and finish. Rare to find genuine Edward Barnsley furniture. The seat height is 47cm.
